Questions

Will Black Belt be free?

Black Belt will be free to download. Full access will be Black Belt Pro, bought inside the app through the App Store, with a 7-day free trial for eligible subscribers. Nothing is sold on this website.

Do I need an account?

No. There is no Black Belt account, profile page or feed. Your journal lives on your iPhone.

Do I need Apple Health, WHOOP or an Apple Watch?

No. Each one is optional. The journal works on its own, and every connection is explained before iOS asks.

Does it work offline?

Yes. Once access is set up, logging sessions works without a connection.

Can I move to a new iPhone?

Yes, with the optional iCloud journal backup. It starts off; you choose to enable it during setup or in Settings. Apple Health and WHOOP data are never in it, so you reconnect them after restoring.

Can I record my earlier kids belts?

Yes. Adult practitioners can record their own kids-belt history through to the adult belts. There are no child profiles or parent-managed journals.

Can I get my data out?

Yes. Export your journal as CSV files from Settings › Journal. Study and return-checklist entries require wellness consent, off by default for each export.
